I’ve been involved in Scouting since 2004. I joined the program when my first son was old enough to sign up as a tiger scout. I’ve volunteered as a leader at all levels and done most every job there is to do. I’ve been given the wonderful opportunity to attend trainings to improve my skills, as well as volunteer to train others at all levels within the program. I currently serve in the following positions: Order of the Arrow lodge adviser; treasurer and trainer for Cub Scout Pack 4042 (St. Joseph’s Catholic School); assistant scoutmaster and activities coordinator for Troop 4041 (United Methodist Church); merit badge counselor for several merit badges; plus I serve on many committees. I have served as a unit commissioner, assistant district commissioner, district commissioner, National Youth Leadership scoutmaster and assistant scoutmaster, day camp director, wood badge staff, range safety officer for shooting sports, cubmaster, and den leader for each Cub Scout level. I’ve been honored with several awards for my efforts in the program, including the Silver Scout, District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver Award, and the James E. West Fellowship.

I love to share my spirit of exploration by leading high adventure trips to destinations such as: discovering the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, canoeing the Mississippi River, traversing Isle Royale, mudding the Porcupine Mountains, hiking the Superior Hiking Trail, Jamboree-ing at the Summit, Okpiking at Charles L. Sommers, sailing the Sea of Abaco in The Bahamas, and discovering many other less famous, but wild places. My passion lies in helping others grow to become leaders through both big and small adventures in our world.
