Hello Parents, Leaders, & Campers,
We are looking forward to having a great Olympic Day Camp experience. We will be meeting at the Eveleth Veterans’ Park on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10-11th. Registration/Check-in runs from 8:00-8:45 on both days. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 8:45. The festivities will end at 4:00 PM both days. If for some reason, a youth needs to leave early, please check him out at the Registration Station.
For your Cub Scout to get the most out of his Day Camp experience, it is recommended that he bring the following things:
- A non-perishable lunch
- Water Bottle/Canteen
- Sun screen and non-aerosol insect repellent
- A baseball hat or bonnie cap for sun protection
- Comfortable tennis/athletic shoes (sandals are not recommended)
- Rain protection (poncho or rain jacket)
- Money for the Trading Post
- Completed and signed Health/Permission Form
- Medicine Order Form for any Prescription Medications required during Camp
- Prescription Medication in original container w/Pharmacy Label on it.
- A backpack to carry everything in
On Wednesday, please remember to bring your egg and container for the egg drop. The container can be no larger than 6" x 6", must contain a raw egg, and be able to withstand a drop from a two story height.
Everything should be labeled with the Scout’s name and the Pack number that they belong to. Make sure that your Scout dresses for the weather. With the unpredictable Spring that we have been having it is important to Be Prepared. Coolers will NOT be provided by the camp, so it is highly recommended that units coordinate to bring coolers for their participants’ lunches. Units can also coordinate to bring sun screen and insect repellent for their participants so that they won’t each have to provide that. Contact your unit leader to set this up. It is also important to sign the permission slip allowing participation in the Cub Scout Shooting Sports events (Archery and BB Gun stations). A Cub Scout will not be allowed to participate in these stations without this signed permission from his parent or guardian.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Camp Director, John Stanaway at jbstanaway@msn.com or call Matt at 218-591-9181. We are looking forward to having a great time.
Sincerely,
John Stanaway, Camp Director &
Matthew Bisbee, District Executive
