Being Prepared includes training

Adult leaders from all throughout the Sleeping Giant district took part in the Scout leader training held on April 5 in Mountain Iron. Courses offered included leader training, new leader essentials, committee member training and youth protection.

Scouting Conference
The Voyageurs Area Council Scouting Conference was held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Fond du Lac Community College in Duluth.
Sleeping Giant District Executive Matt Bisbee presents a flag which flew over an American military base in Afghanistan to a council representative. The presentation was made during the opening ceremony.

Troop 17 spends weekend at Lake Leander
Boy Scout Troop 17 of Hibbing spent a fun-filled weekend at Lake Leander the last weekend of December.

Webelos and parents were invited out to participate in activities of sled racing, scavenger hunt, lunch and other outside games. Shown are parents and members of Troop 17, Pack 9, Pack 13 and Pack 16.
A Holiday "Good Turn"
Boy Scout Troop 17 and Cub Scout Pack 9 of Hibbing joined together and adopted two families as a holiday "good turn". The Scouts donated food items to make a turkey dinner in addition to shopping for and wrapping toys, clothes and other gifts.
