2010 National Scout Jamboree
The 2010 National Scout Jamboree, celebrating 100 years of Scouting will be held at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia from July 21 – August 5, 2010. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for Boy Scouts from the Voyageurs Area Council to gather with over 30,000 Scouts and leaders from all over the world to celebrate Scouting’s 100th Anniversary.
It is now time to reserve your spot in the Voyageurs Area Council contingent. The Council is planning to send three troops to the Jamboree, each consisting of 36 Scouts and 4 leaders. Youth spots will be filled on the first-come, first served basis. (Leadership applications will be available at a later date.) If you are interested in attending the National Jamboree, download the Hold A Spot application and submit it the Council Service Center along with a $100 deposit.
To attend the National Jamboree, Scouts must meet the following qualifications:

Be a Scout who has completed the sixth grade or be at least 12 years of age and attained the rank of First Class by July 1, 2010.

Participate in pre-Jamboree Training.

Have a completed Class 3 “National Jamboree” physical (issued to each participant by the National Office)

Have been active in his Troop for at lease 6 months prior to July 1, 2010.

Be approved by his Scoutmaster and the Voyageurs Area Council Jamboree Committee.
