North Country National Scenic Trail - Hike 100 Challenge

For the 100th birthday of the National Park Service, the North Country Trail Association has issued the Hike 100 Challenge.  Those who hike a total of 100 miles on the North Country Trail in 2016 will receive special recognition.  For Scouts, that means a North Country Trail 100 Patch and certificate.  All participants also receive the National Park Service “Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger” patch.

With well over 600 miles of the North Country National Scenic Trail within the Voyagers Area Council territory, there are many places where Scouts, Cubs, and their units can get out on the trail.  Note that the NCT also encompasses the Superior Hiking Trail, Border Route Trail, and Kekekabic Trail - miles on any of these trails count.
