NESA Announces New Book of Eagle Scout Stories in 2012
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Eagle Scout Award, the National Eagle Scout Association has partnered with Harris Connect for a special publication. This new project will kick off Jan. 30.
The book will reflect upon 100 proud years of Scouting’s highest achievers and will include personal stories, photos, and Scouting experiences. This will truly be a celebration of the commitment to service and leadership by Eagles everywhere. Not only will this great project help support the BSA and the NESA Eagle Scout scholarship fund, it will also benefit every council.
Each council staff will have access to the updated Eagle Scout contact information as well as indicators for participants, book buyers, and scholarship fund contributors for your council area. This information is invaluable and will provide you with excellent opportunities to help increase your engagement with your area Eagle Scouts for your council’s Scouting programs and events. This information will be added to the existing NESA online community for your use toward the end of the updating, or phoning, segment of this program.
We are also asking for your help in supporting this project. The more Eagles who participate, the more successful this project will be—from the content within the publication (which benefits every Eagle Scout who reserves a copy), to the membership drive, to the scholarship participation. All you need to do is publicize this project through email outreach, your website, and any other communications you may be deploying.
We will be utilizing the NESA online community to provide you with the tools you need to gain awareness of this project and to encourage Scout participation. Here you will find sample email communications as well as ideas on how to publicize the project. Our partners at Harris Connect will be working with us to create and post this sample material—you will hear from them with specific information when the content is ready.
