Today Unit and District Tools will be made available to the Scouting community. With many additional features being released in the near future, this new tool is the first step in replacing the current membership system.

To access Unit and District Tools at this time, BSA members must log in to their MyScouting accounts and click the link located on the landing page. Once they are taken to the new tool they should be able to log in using their current MyScouting user name and password.

Though additional features will be rolled out at the end of this year and into 2013, this initial release will include the enhancements listed below.

Unit Key 3 administrators will have the ability to:

  • Update unit members’ contact information
  • Export/print addresses, phone numbers, and unit member roster listings
  • Post announcements and calendar entries for their unit

District Key 3 administrators will have the ability to:

  • Update unit and district members’ contact information
  • Export/print addresses, phone numbers, and member roster listings for units and districts
  • Post announcements for select or all units in a district (including non-unit registrants)
  • Post calendar entries for select or all units in a district (including non-unit registrants)

Additionally, all BSA members have the ability to view calendar entries and announcements. They can also update personal contact information (e.g., address, phone, email).

Any changes to BSA members’ profiles in Unit and District Tools will also change their information in ScoutNET. National and Council BSA News sections will also be available for viewing updates and announcements.

To access a list of the features that will be available in the near future, please log in to the new tool and view the “Release Details” section located at the top of the page.
