RE:      Alumni event invitation

Recently some received a postcard inviting them to attend an adult alumni social event.  Due to a miscommunication with our mailing vendor this postcard was inadvertently sent to our Scouting membership rather than the intended adult Eagle Scout alumni.

Please accept my apologies for this error and trust that I would never intentionally invite Scouts to anything that would be inappropriate for them.

With this event, underwritten by Scouting sponsors, we hope to attract some of our alumni who may have fallen away from Scouting.  By re-connecting with them we hope to re-kindle their affinity for Scouting after an evening of fellowship and sharing of memories.  We want their help in delivering the character building, citizenship development and fitness efforts that Scouting provides to the latest generation of youths in our area.

Some may disagree with the appropriateness of the availability of alcohol at gatherings of adult Scouting supporters.  Although we may disagree, I do respect your opinions and concerns.  Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available so these adult alumni will have a choice in how they participate. As is always the case, no alcohol is served at Scouting events or meetings which involve youth or where adults are in uniform.

I sincerely appreciate all of you and what you do for Scouting and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be your Scout Executive. Feel free to contact me directly at 218-740-4520 or [Click for member's page] about this or other concerns you may have about Scouting.
