  • Commissioners work with CC & UL to complete charter renewal

Late October/Early November

  • Super Scouting Saturday – units have plenty of cash on hand – can turn in charter renewal as well as popcorn payments and any popcorn returns

November & December

  • All “new” youth and adults are processed immediately, they are NOT held until January.
  • Charter renewals are submitted by commissioner staff to SE or designee.
  • SE or Designee approves and gives to Susan Meyer.
  • Susan Meyer receipts funds and scans all documentation for RSS for processing.
  • RSS notifies, Susan Meyer, DE, and District Commissioner of any defects.
  • Susan Meyer, DE and Commissioner address any defects.

December

  • Susan Meyer pulls an “All” membership print selection. Susan Meyer pulls Webelos Eligible to become Boy Scouts list from MyBSA. Converts to Webelos tracking spreadsheet. As transfers are processed, the Webelos Transition Tracking sheet is updated. DE’s manage their district’s Webelos eligible list: sharing prospects with Scoutmasters through the district Webelos to Boy Scout Transition Chair and their team of volunteers.

January

  • Charter Renewals “post” as soon as the new membership year is opened.
  • RSS prints membership cards and charter certificates and mails to unit leader. Also available on my.Scouting
  • Commissioners schedule “Charter Presentation Ceremony” for February’s Blue & Gold/Court of Honor. Commissioners share dates/times/details of this meeting with Family FOS team so that they can also plan to make their presentation at the same meeting.

January and as units post

  • Those with effective dates after 9/1/2017 are checked to see if they were renewed. List of those who were not is managed by DE such that the district’s “Retention and Recovery team” can implement best methods to recover those who were lost.
