William Groskreutz

Bill started Cub Scouts, Pack 31, Wells, MN, in 1977 and crossed over into Boy Scouts, Troop 41, Wells, in 1981. He achieved the rank of Life. He held the position of Senior Patrol Leader, in his troop, for the last 3 years of his scouting career as a youth.  In 1988, he became an Assistant Scoutmaster (SM) until 1992.

Bill was also elected into the Order of the Arrow (OA) in 1984.  In 1991, Bill was honored with the Vigil Honor.  In 1990, Bill served as the Lodge Chief for Wahpekute Lodge (Twin Valley Council).

Bill worked at Cuyuna Scout Camp (Twin Valley Council) from 1985-1991 and 2005-2008.  In 2005, Bill went to National Camping School (NCS) to become a Project COPE Director.  In November of 2005, Bill became the Camp Director at Cuyuna, for which he went to NCS in Camp Management.  He resigned from this position in October of 2008.

While living in North Branch, Bill was an Assistant Cubmaster for Pack 141 of Indianhead Council (now part of Northern Star Council). In 2001, Bill became the Cubmaster of Pack 10, Foley, MN, Central MN Council.  He held that position for 3 years before moving into the role of Asst. SM with Troop 10.  From 2003 to 2006, Bill was the Membership Chair for the Gateway District of Central MN Council.

In 2006, Bill moved to Voyageur Area Council and became an Asst. SM with Troop 187.  In June 2008, Bill became the Troop Committee Chair and is still serving in the capacity. In August 2011, Bill started a Venture Crew, which is associated with Troop 187.  He is the Crew Adviser.  He stepped down from this position in April 2014, due to time constraints with work and other activities.

Bill has been serving as the Glacial Trails Pine POD roundtable commissioner since August 2014. He has also been serving on the Council Advancement committee since 2011 and as a member of the Glacial Trails district committee since 2014. Bill is the person to contact in Pine & southern Carlton county for Eagle Scout projects and boards of review.

On March 17, 2018, Bill received the District Award of Merit from the Glacial Trails district.
